ECM-Electronically Commutated Motors
Electrically Commutated Motors (ECM) are a newer motor design. They require 67% less energy than a comparable permanent-split capacitor PSC motor. These motors are generally very small and range from fractional HP to about 2 HP.
We recommend the installation of ECM motors in walk-in coolers and freezer fan coils and condensing units as well as low-tonnage condenser and blower fan motor assemblies. They are a cost-effective energy reducing component that have been embraced by most manufacturers.
